The World Football Programme has been on air since 1987. Yes it will be 40 years old in 2026! It is the longest running live world football radio show in Australia. The show has grown from a generic sports programme featuring soccer news in its early versions of the weekly broadcast to an energetic ‘Soccer’ specific two hours of live football in 2026. Listen to the show from 10am – 12 noon, live, every Saturday from February through to November on Radio Fremantle 107.9 FM or catch any of the shows podcasts on https://theworldfootballprogramme.com.au.
Content and conversations include coverage of local match competitions, news updates, profiles of clubs and personalities and comments and banter around what’s happening in the world game locally, nationally and internationally each week.
The programme is researched, produced and presented by a passionate football team with decades of football knowledge and expertise, both on and off the field. The World Football Team love talking about all aspects of the world game.
The programme has been lead by Penny Tanner Hoath for over 20 years, since doing her apprenticeship with Martyn Wells for over 10 years and then being handed the reigns in 2005.
